Great War Postcards
2 for 3D

Learning from their experience in the USA, Executives knew that postcards of local views would be best sellers at the new British Woolworth's. Pictures of the Houses of Parliament, Tower of London and Crystal Palace were early winners. But from 1914 onwards sales took an unexpected twist, as customers snapped up any card related to the World War and the people behind it. This page is part of a feature which shows some of the most popular cards from the range, giving an insight into how the Great War was presented to the public at home in the UK.
